Flooding Dalkey Park

Cllr Thomas Joseph tabled a motion requesting that the necessary arrangements be made to permanently repair and upgrade the drainage system in the Dalkey Park area. Flooding has occurred after almost every rainfall event for over 40 years, affecting nearby houses and businesses.
The motion was passed on 23rd Feb 2026, and the following report was provided: “The Road Maintenance and Water & Drainage Sections are actively reviewing this matter with a view to developing a solution to address the issue as soon as practicable.”

Recent Update:
Following Cllr Thomas Joseph’s motion on 23rd February 2026, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council implemented a permanent solution to resolve the long-standing drainage issues in Dalkey Park. The flooding problem affecting nearby homes and businesses has now been successfully addressed.
